Stage Two: Concept Plans

Help shape Wānaka's lakefront now and for future generations to enjoy.

We've been working on revamped concepts for Stage Two of the Wānaka Lakefront Development Plan, following community feedback last year regarding parking on the lakefront. We've created two designs, with both concepts featuring an active travel promenade, a proposed feature garden and the retention of existing trees. Option #1 features 144 new car parking spaces along the lakeside of Ardmore Street, and Option #2 includes retaining the Millennium Pathway in its existing location and adding no parking.

If you prefer parking along the lakeside of Ardmore Street, there are a number of locations where new Millennium Pathway tiles could be laid.

There are no preferred options at this stage of the process, and your feedback will help provide Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) and the Wānaka Community Board (WCB) with direction to develop these concepts further.
